After moving to the Pacific Northwest in the late ’90s, Andreas took his first yoga class in 2001 and over the years it became a daily part of his life. In 2008 he decided that he wanted to start teaching, and enrolled in the teacher training program at Seattle’s 8 Limbs Yoga Studio as well as getting his NSCA personal training certification. About that same time, Andreas saw his first Cirque du Soleil show and fell in love with the circus arts. For the last 8 years, he has trained and taught classes at SANCA in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. He has studied aerials, acrobatics, and tumbling among other things and currently specializes in hand-balancing.
With a background in a wide range of movement modalities, Andreas draws from a deep knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology to help students discover what their own bodies are capable of. Andreas’ classes will challenge you while giving you the freedom to discover what nurtures you. With breath linking the movements together, Andreas leads a physically challenging class that weaves in yogic and buddhist philosophy and uses the asana practice as a way to understand ones self on a deeper level.
