Yin + Yang Fusion with Sarah Erter

There is much to be explored in the complementary practices of stillness and movement. Join Sarah Erter for a monthly Yin + Yang inspired practice. The fusion of Yin + Yang energies promotes holistic and balanced well-being by supporting and stimulating the dynamic and passive functions of the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems of the body while simultaneously nourishing and replenishing the nervous system and mind. The Yin portion of class will include poses that are held for time to address the deeper framework of connective tissue within the musculoskeletal system while promoting rest and replenishment of energy. The Yang portion of class will build into a mindful slow movement to support the strength and stability of the cardiovascular system while simultaneously promoting the circulation of energy throughout the body. Supportive techniques from the complementary modalities of meditation, mindfulness, pranayama, and qigong will be offered to nurture the experiences of stillness and calm movement. This offering will share inspiration from Traditional Chinese Medicine with an emphasis on poses to promote the flow of energy (Qi) through lines of energy (meridians) that correspond to the body, the mind, the seasons, the five elements, and nature.

Conscious Breathing for Healing & Awakening

Conscious Breathing for Healing & Awakening
Release the Physical, Mental, Emotional & Spiritual Blockages from Your Life

Throughout history, cultures worldwide have provided a means for people to access non-ordinary realms for healing and spiritual growth. Breathwork is a means of inducing an altered state of consciousness through full and connected breathing. An energy charge is created in the body, and as the energy disperses, it serves to release, or to cleanse blockages, both physical and emotional. Possible experiences include; resolution and release of current problems, unresolved childhood wounds, birth memories, past life remembrances and stored trauma in the body. Many also experience encounters with the divine, transcendence of time or space, direct experiences of the primordial vibration, deep peace, unconditional love and orgasmic states.

The process is gentle, safe, and loving and almost every person will have a deep moving experience. As an added benefit, Breathwork is quite healthy for the body. You will be conscious the whole time and totally in control. Please come prepared for immediate growth and a powerful experience.

Benefits can include
• Deepen a spiritual connection
• Dissolve stress and anxiety issues
• Release old baggage and disempowering beliefs
• Increased levels of awareness and intuition
• Heal emotional contributors to physical dis-ease
• Unblock the creative process
• Provide a safe and natural way to experience expanded states of consciousness
• And much more........

***NOTE: Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or sleeping bag, blanket and pillow. It's preferable not to eat for an hour prior. We will provide eye masks or you can bring your own.

Tibetan Healing Yoga: LuJong

Tibetan Healing Yoga: LuJong

Lu Jong (Lu body, Jong=transformation) practice is a series of body movements that developed more than 8000 years ago in Tibet. Lu Jong originates in the Buddhist Tantrayana and Bön traditions and it is based on Tibetan Medicine.

Lukhang Temple, Tibet (17th century)
Tibetan Medicine understands that diseases are the consequence of imbalanced elements and humors (the vital substances of the body). Through the combination of position, movement and breath, Lu Jong opens the channels in the body and mobilizes misdirected energy. In this way, the practice of Lu Jong helps to cultivate balance on the physical, mental and energetic levels.

On the physical level, the movements support the healing processes and also effectively combat disease. With regular practice we become more flexible, strong and improve our overall vitality.

On a mental level, Lu Jong helps us overcome negative emotions like anger and craving in order to achieve emotional balance and increase our energy.

Through the exercises of Lu Jong we can influence the mind in such a way that it becomes free and compassionate. Our well being, awareness of our body and inner sensitivity, as well as our power of concentration and clarity are strengthened.

On an energetic level, Lu Jong releases blockages and opens the subtle body channels. Reestablishing the proper flow of energy has profound consequences for the health of both body and mind. And when we open our channels, we open our hearts.

This form of Lu Jong originates in the lineage of Tulku Lobsang, who introduced the practice of Lu Jong to the West. Prior to this, he received many years of teachings from masters of different Tibetan Buddhist schools.

In this way, he was able to collect these precious exercises and modify them to adapt to Western needs. The result is an extensive program of physical movements, which bring our bodies and minds into balance. The practice of Lu Jong is suitable for all ages and physical abilities. While the movements of Lu Jong are simple, they can surely change your life.

Ganja Yoga

Ganja Yoga

Combining cannabis and yoga is a healing ritual that has persisted through the ages. Although ancient yogis discovered the therapeutic effects of this practice long ago, the modern-day implementation has never been more relevant and necessary. Many of us live our lives in a constant state of stress and reaction to life and its challenges, whether from media bombardment, overstimulation, or navigating a never-ending list of pressures and responsibilities from work, family, and our modern day-to-day life. These stressors have a formidable impact on body, mind, and spirit. Rarely do we make or find time to be still and simply allow life to be what it is. As a result, some of us can feel a separation from ourselves. The word Yoga means union, to bring and yoke together: Ganja Yoga can be a way of balancing oneself physically, mentally, and spiritually. Connecting all aspects of oneself to each other in balance, peace of mind, and joy, in a supportive community environment. Bringing these two activities together creates space for intense mystical experiences, possibly resulting in a profound shift in awareness. This workshop will give us all a chance to connect with others on the same journey. Let’s explore this magic together!

NOTE: This is a 21 and over event.

About the yoga: This will be a slow and restful practice incorporating reflection and promoting tranquility. Everybody is welcome here. If you are new to yoga, cannabis, or both, consider this a safe place and great opportunity to explore. We will spend time luxuriating in each stretch, allowing space to delve deeper inside and harmonize ourselves.

Mindful Yin - The Space Between

“Stillness is one of the doors into the temple.”
~ Mary Oliver

Clinical research shows when individuals practice mindfulness they become more present, leading to decreased stress, enhanced emotional equilibrium and creativity, deeper capacity to focus, and more effective communication. Yin Yoga provides a balance to the pace of modern living, restoring your natural energy. In this beautiful, meditative, and centering yoga practice, poses are held for several minutes, which stimulates the deeper tissues (the fascia, ligaments, tendons and bones).

Join Leah Adams to explore and experience the benefits of both of these practices.  We’ll practice several ancient techniques to calm the mind and soothe the nervous system, techniques that you can take off your mat and into your life. Combining mindfulness practices with yin yoga, we will cultivate relaxation, softening the heart space and unraveling tension, which helps to activate the body's healing response, nourish connective tissue and support emotional equilibrium. You can expect to leave with a deeper sense of balance and ease.

race; that waking up to life is what we
were born for…”
