Mindful Yin Day-Long Study

Mindful Yin Day-Long Study

Explore and cultivate your meditation practice in a day-long event dedicated to Mindfulness and Yin Yoga.  We’ll integrate these practices within the container of traditional teachings and a supportive community.

I will share the building blocks of my personal practice, offering tools you can take with you off the mat and into your daily life, including:

  • Embodied practice - breath work and movement

  • Shamatha - cultivation of attentional stability

  • Mindfulness - four foundations of mindfulness

My goal is to support you by sharing ways you can meet yourself wherever you are, and cultivate relaxation, vividness, and stability.  You can expect to dive into an extended yin practices, a few briefs meditations and several mini lectures with ample opportunity for questions and group discussion. Join me to map out your own nourishing practices.

“It only takes a reminder to breathe,
a moment to be still, and just like that,
something in you settles, softens, makes
space for imperfection. The harsh voice
of judgment drops to a whisper and you
remember again that life isn’t a relay
race; that waking up to life is what we
were born for…”

Mindful Yin - The Space Between

Mindful Yin - The Space Between

“Stillness is one of the doors into the temple.”
~ Mary Oliver

Clinical research shows when individuals practice mindfulness they become more present, leading to decreased stress, enhanced emotional equilibrium and creativity, deeper capacity to focus, and more effective communication. Yin Yoga provides a balance to the pace of modern living, restoring your natural energy. In this beautiful, meditative, and centering yoga practice, poses are held for several minutes, which stimulates the deeper tissues (the fascia, ligaments, tendons and bones).

Join Leah Adams to explore and experience the benefits of both of these practices.  We’ll practice several ancient techniques to calm the mind and soothe the nervous system, techniques that you can take off your mat and into your life. Combining mindfulness practices with yin yoga, we will cultivate relaxation, softening the heart space and unraveling tension, which helps to activate the body's healing response, nourish connective tissue and support emotional equilibrium. You can expect to leave with a deeper sense of balance and ease.

SHINE ~ Spring Equinox Yoga Ceremony

Re-awaken your energy!

Connect to the planetary power of Spring!

Yoga is Ceremony ~ Take your practice to a higher vibration!

The Spring Equinox is a time of renewal, when our planet transforms from pale stillness to colorful explosion. We see and feel the changes all around us. These changes are also happening within us. Aligning with the seasonal shifts through yoga & meditation will clear out energy that no longer serves you and open new possibilities so you can create a life you love.

SHINE is combined with a Spring Equinox Ceremony, to enhance your transformation by connecting to the energy of Equinox.  Explore 3 main techniques; the principles of Forrest yoga asana (strength, integrity & spirit) to open the energetic field of the body, guided Vision Quest meditation and Sacred Ceremony to create clear intention and ask for support in planting new possibilities.

Yoga ceremony offers a unique experience to clear out what no longer serves you and call in what you need to live a more empowered and creative life. Informed by Native American practices, sacred space is created through meditation and prayer which allows for one's true intentions to surface.

Accompanied by honored guest, Peter Ali, on Native American flute and Alexis Eggestson, supreme songtress!

All levels of yoga welcome. Bring a journal, water, an offering for the altar (fruit, plants, stones, personal memento).

"Yoga addresses all aspects of who we are.

Yoga is not exercise but a profound system of self-discovery that offers spiritual exploration. When we pause, look inward and re-learn how to feel, we allow for a fine tuning of our inner wisdom, remapping our body, minds and spirit." ~ GC PhD

Ganja Yoga
Apr

6:30 PM18:30

Ganja Yoga

Ganja Yoga:

Combining cannabis and yoga is a healing ritual that has persisted through thousands of years. Although ancient yogis discovered the therapeutic effects of this practice long ago, the modern day implementation has never been more relevant and necessary. So many of us live our lives in a constant state of stress, whether from media overstimulation or navigating a never-ending list of pressures and responsibilities from work, family, etc. These stressors have a formidable impact on our physical, mental, and spiritual states. As a result, some of us may feel a separation from our genuine selves. Ganja yoga can be your remedy.

Both the consumption of cannabis and the practice of yoga have individually proven to be powerful healing modalities. Bringing these two activities together creates space for intense mystical experiences, possibly resulting in a profound shift in awareness. This workshop will give us all a chance to connect with others on the same journey. Let’s explore this magic together!

NOTE:  This is a 21 and over event.

About the yoga:

This will be a slow and restful practice incorporating reflection and promoting tranquility. EveryBODY is welcome here. If you are new to yoga, cannabis, or both, consider this a safe place and great opportunity to explore. We will spend time luxuriating in each stretch, allowing space to delve deeper inside.

Timeline:

6:15 – doors open

6:30 – smoke social

7:00 – opening circle

7:15 – yoga practice

8:15 – saying goodbyes and wrapping up

Cost: $30

What your ticket gets you:

·      30% off product at (Lux) Pot Shop Ballard – Make your purchase in the shop anytime before class, let the Budtender know you are attending Ganja Yoga, and show them your event purchase receipt email for validation. You can preorder products on their website at luxpotshop.com

·      A representative from Equinox Gardens will be present to answer any burning questions about their amazing cannabis products, and to share some swag

·      A mindful guided yoga practice interwoven with cannabis education

What to bring:

·      A valid ID. Because this is strictly a 21 and over event, you will not be admitted without it.

  • Wear comfy clothes and make sure to bring along your own mat, a water bottle, and any soft items (sweatshirt, blanket, pillow, etc.) you wish to make the ground a little cozier. If you don't happen to have a mat, some are available at the studio for rent.

·      Bring whatever form of cannabis you plan on consuming.  Vaping (pen, dab, dry-herb vaporizer) is ok indoors, but combusting flower (pipe, joint, bong, etc.) has to be done out the back door.  If you don’t have anything to bring, don’t worry, there will be tons to share!

About the Instructor:

Erin Allan, MA, RYT-200 is a Ganja Yoga Certified instructor. You will see Erin light up when she talks about cannabis and yoga, a practice she is immensely passionate about that completely transformed her own life. So passionate in fact, that she left a career as a mental health counselor in 2012 and dedicated all her time to learning as much about these topics as possible. She has since taught thousands of hours of various types of yoga and has held multiple positions within the cannabis industry. Erin is overjoyed at the opportunity to share the gift of ganja yoga. With intentional use and careful guidance, she will explore with you the healing power that this sacred practice offers to connect mind and body in new and profound ways.
